The Feature Guide
Tasks on the Run provides two basic methods to keep your team comprehensively up to date on what has been added or updated.
The Activity Stream is the first way that people can track what's going on from directly on your website. The Activity Stream shows all recently added and updated items, as well as recent comments.

There will be some people on your team who will stay connected, and will be on top of changes happening on the Activity Stream at all times. Others might visit your website more sporadically, because they may have a personal workflow that is built around their feed reader or their email inbox.

Tasks on the Run makes it easy to accommodate these people, by distributing updates about newly created items via both RSS Feeds and email notifications.
You may have reason to be concerned about the security of distributed data. Tasks on the Run lets you instantly turn on or off any outbound data service. For tasking data you can do this at the individual folder level:

Not all the newly created items on your team website are going to have the same degree of urgency for everyone. Tasks on the Run lets your team members individually fine-tune the kinds of email notifications they receive, and how frequently they receive them.
