Follow the Activity Stream

Tasks on the Run provides several different tools to help you track your progress. The tool that provides the broadest view of what's going on is the Activity Stream. With the Activity Stream, you can follow every item as it gets added, updated, and commented on.

  • Track all newly added and updated items
  • Track all comments

This is the Activity Stream page showing all the newly added and updated items on this website

Focus on Changes & Due Dates

The Activity Stream is great when you are starting up your website, but it can sometimes provide too much information. The Dashboard offers several other snapshots that provide a more narrow focus.

  • View a summary of items recently added
  • View an audit trail of task changes
  • Track upcoming due dates
  • Track overdue items

Of course, not all these snapshots are needed by everyone. So each team member can personalize their own Dashboard to show only the pages they want.

Monitor Milestones & Groups

Tasks on the Run offers more advanced tracking tools, but for a lot of projects the basic tracking provided by milestones and groups is all that's needed.

  • Monitor overall progress
  • Monitor the status of associated tasks

With one click, you can view all the milestones or groups, and see the progress percentage. You just a couple more clicks, you can drill down into the individual tasks and see the status details for each.

Create Tracking Folders

The Task Search feature is a powerful tool you can use to apply multiple criteria when searching for tasks.

  • Apply multiple criteria for task searches
  • Save searches as tracking folders

As an example, you might search for tasks that belong to a particular milestone, and are high priority, and have due dates less than a week ahead.

When you have a task search that you'll want to use regularly, you can save it as a Tracking Folder, which you can run anytime by clicking on a link on the Folders page.
